re: Poliboard: Clinton on deathbed - Reality: 70% chance of winning remains. - Bayou Sam
So are you on record stating that the polls won't move this week after she lost consciousness and was dragged, toes down, into her van?
Yes, if anything will convince people to vote for a maniac, it's the other candidate fainting. ...

re: Any good Roman Movies? - Bayou Sam
I second I Claudius. Satyricon is also decent if you like wild, artsy movies. The Shakespeare film adaptations of Titus Andronicus (Titus, starring A Hopkins) and Julius Caesar (with Marlon Brando, James Mason, and John Gielgud) are also very good....

re: There are two types of Democrats in my family - Bayou Sam
Why? There are many well-informed republicans who aren't voting for Trump. Because he doesn't like voting third-party, he's holding his nose and voting Clinton. He's not happy about it. The difference in my mind is between WSJ republicans, who I respect intellectually, and Fox News / talk radio ...

re: There are two types of Democrats in my family - Bayou Sam
Republicans in my family: 1. well-informed, WSJ reader. Hates Trump, will vote for Hillary. We have intelligent/intelligible conversations. 2-4. Badly informed. Regularly posts outright nonsense on facebook that can easily be disproved by snopes. Closely resembles the plurality of the Polibo...

re: Where to live in the Lafayette area - Bayou Sam
I don't understand the attraction of subdivisions, so I would say the saint street area. If you have money, W Bayou and E Bayou areas are nice. If you want to live nearer to Carencro, I'd want to live in Grand Coteau or even Arnaudville. You can also live in the country between these areas....

re: Hell or High Water - Bayou Sam
Very good flick with a very good script. Only thing I didn't like was Pine, who looked a bit too much like a movie star compared to the rest of the cast. But the movie offers a lot to different kinds of audiences....

re: Who killed Isis leader: USA or Russia? Russia says they killed him - Bayou Sam
I think the real issue here is that you don't understand the nature of the Syrian regime, or the Syrian conflict, which is an entirely separate issue from ISIS-inspired / ISIS propaganda terror attacks in the West. I agree that these can't be "controlled" (whether or not the regime survives), but IS...

re: Who killed Isis leader: USA or Russia? Russia says they killed him - Bayou Sam
The Syrian regime represents nothing but chaos--they've killed far more civilians in Syria than ISIS. It's not even close. If anything, Obama shoulders the blame of not taking them out, hence ending the war, and allowing most Syrians--who hate ISIS--to turn on the terror group. The whole Russian ...

re: Gay Syrian refugee found beheaded in Istanbul - Bayou Sam
Homosexuality has been legal in Turkey since 1858. There are tons of gay people in Istanbul, but the world is becoming more polarized and ideological, and it's a dark time in Turkey thanks to the conservatives in power. That said, I do wonder if this is a special case--the guy was Syrian, and liv...

So if I write an article about shariah law, does that mean I support shariah law? What a ridiculous "news story". Apparently your thread title is based on this statement:
Khan then notes that Quranic law includes “constitutional law.”
This is just a fact about shariah, and i...
