One good thing about playing Texas, you pick up some good songs:

Just purchased RWH's latest. Grifter's Hymnal. Solid work by one of the best singer/songwriters working today.

Seen him several times over the years. He is even better up close and personal at the music fest in Steamboat Springs. Sadly he does fly under the radar more than I expected him to but he does produce some really good shite!

It is. It sold out the first day. If you get on Chris Maxwells email list, he lets you know when the tickets go on sale and how many seats are left, etc.

I saw RWH play on the beach in Corpus a few years ago .. with his son on lead guitar; the son could play.

And Ray Wylie was one proud Dad, truly enjoying being on stage with his son.

I like some of his tracks .. he's Texas alt country all the way. Some of his songs he gets a little too cute and kitschy with the lyrics. Heartaches and Grease comes to mind. That Snake Farm album is pretty decent as a whole though.

His son is a hell of a guitar player, he just moved to the Denver area, and will only be doing a few shows here and there with Ray Wylie
