First date and I need something relatively unique in Hammond for Dinner. Not looking to drain my wallet but if the food is worth then I don't mind payin for it.

SIAP, searched but didn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks in advance

Jacmel Inn is nice and fairly priced - definitely a romantic atmosphere.

I'm in my early 30's...I work in Hammond and grew up here too. I would take a date to Jacmel. If you are younger, like still in college, then I would go to Kirin or Brady's.

Food is OK. They have a nice bar and probably have someone playing guitar there tonight around 9pm. So that might not be a bad idea either.

Kirin is more suitable for a first date, IMO. The atmosphere will allow you to not be entrenched into each other the entire time, which could be awkward for one or the both of you.

I was there about a year or so ago and we ate at a relatively new steak restaurant. It was quite good. Limited menu, but the service and food were very good. Not much atmosphere...very casual, but we were looking for a casual setting with a group of about 10 folks so it worked well. I just can't recall the name.

Wtf is Kirin? Sushi is out of the question.

Are any of these places downtown?

I suck at Hammond

I love Tommy's pizza and the Italian salad as well. Take me there on this date, please.

This is the steakhouse where we ate.

LINK /

I remember more about it. It was small, but quaint with brick walls. Charbroiled oysters were very good and I remember loving the mac and cheese. Steaks were all good. I'd go back.

Do not go to Cate Street Seafood Station.

Not a whole lot in Hammond, so I guess I would go along with the rest of the crowd and say Jacmel or Tope la. Have been to neither, but Hammond food does suck so guess it doesn't really matter.
