I have a feeling no matter what the lineup is that this board will bitch and moan one way or another.

Beckerman is a good option for Tuesday. Mexico is desperate. They'll be going balls to the wall for a goal. Play defense, hit them on the counter and get another one late when they have everyone pushed up. 2-0.

Just spitballing here.

Corona has seen time in the center at Xolos.

I thought we were done relying on Bob ball?

I would love to see Corona in the center for us. He is way better in the middle of the pitch as opposed to on the wing.

So, (try to) play "beautiful", regardless of opponent, or the players available for selection?

Brilliant tactics, Cruyff.

We are playing at home in front of a raucous crowd. I'd rather not see us come out and bunker and try to counter for goals. We have plenty of talent at our disposal to come out and play attacking football tuesday night.

Nothing wrong with playing to your strengths. We're without our best striker, our best center mid, best center back. Play smart, pick your spots

I don't care how we do it, I just want to win.

Regardless of the outcome, the way we play Tuesday will not be an indictment on us because, like hendo said, we are without our best striker, best mid, and best centerback.

Once those guys are back, we will go back to the way we have played during the streak, for now, we just need to win.

Pretty much where I'm at with it.

I don't care if a fricking seagull flies in and strikes a wayward cross into the net, and we win 1-0... I'll be celebrating.

I see your points and agree with them. Missing the guys we are missing we could definitely use that as a reason to bunker and counter. That being said, our talent/depth is supposed to be deeper than ever right now. Even with the loss of those guys we should still be able to field a team of guys willing/able to attack and create chances, especially at home.
Now dont get me wrong, I want 3 points Tuesday as much as everyone else does. I just would rather see us come out and put the mexicans on their back foot right out the gate, instead of trying to absorb pressure and counter.

If Argentina lost Messi, Aguero and Maxi Rodriguez, they'd have to drastically change tactics as well.

Not many teams can lose three of their better players and still not miss a beat. It's Spain, maybe Germany and that's about it.

Unless you're Spain (and maybe a couple of other elite teams), you're not shoving the ball up any Mexican team's arse for 90 minutes.

You can also be disciplined and look to exploit your opponent on the counter without being Greece.

I completely agree with your overall point about almost everyone but Argentina may well plug in some of Tevez, Pastore, Lavezzi, Higuian, Lamela, Di Maria and be just about as good to go.

I personally think we're more likely to win a game 3-2 or 4-3 than 1-0 or 2-1 due to our recent run of form against better competition. So basically what I'm saying is I agree with 225.

Actually, they'd probably just reload. But we're not Argentina.

One thing I know for sure though, is that Landon usually plays his best against Mexico. Given his recent run of form since coming back, we may be in for something special on Tuesday.

Jones can.

I want Beckeman sitting in front of our center backs. Jermaine Jones can't be trusted defensively in the absence of Michael Bradley.

We're getting Beckerman/Jones. It can work if Jones doesnt have his head up his arse like he did for a large part of Friday.

Even with two DM, the defense will still be shaky. The bigger worry for me is who is the striker. If we see Dempsey up top again, we are in trouble. Need both Dempsey and Donovan deeper and on the ball more and hopefully running off of GAM/Bacon.

Shades to the right, Dempsey to the hole, Johannson up top, Zusi to the bench.
