Normally drink Makers or Knob Creek, but am looking to try something new. Can anyone suggest something else worth buying that's around 30-40 bucks a bottle?

I like eagle rare for the under $30 price. If higher price needed, check basil Hayden

I agree that Eagle Rare is a good value. If I move up to the $40+ range, I like Blanton's.

Buffalo Trace. Good bang for the buck. Under $25.

Enjoyed the Smooth Ambler Old Scout Whiskey recently. Should be around the $40 range for something a little less common. Their Rye is pretty tasty as well.

Outside of that, the Buffalo Trace Antique products are around the corner for release and the William Larue Weller is a great cask strength wheated whiskey (a little more than youre wanting to spend though).

Jefferson's is a pretty good bourbon that I do not see mentioned here very often. Should be about $36 a bottle. Black Maple Hill is also pretty good in the $45 range, along with Blantons.

Woodford Reserve is now more expensive than Knob Creek where I buy my liquor. I thought that was strange. I like em both.

I usually buy Woodford, but i just tried a bottle of Elijah Craig that isn't bad at all. For inexpensive, I'll go with Buffalo Trace.

Eagle Rare and Rowan's Creek are both amazing. I had a Bullit Rye old fashioned last night that was fantastic.
