and the toothless response to Camgate, JFF, the shady shite going on in LA with Bama recruits. The NCAA is unwilling and/or unable to enforce its own rules. LSU should act accordingly and push the envelope aggressively, or risk being left behind by other schools.

CSB, I mad, etc.

I think we're doing okay for ourselves without bending the rules

Pretty obvious what's going on:
If suspending you will cost the NCAA money, minor suspension.

If your suspension won't really effect the NCAA, ban.

All about the benjamins.

I agree, they should start punishing teams based on what opposing fans believe, not the evidence they have

Don't forget the bullshite levied against USC, especially in lieu of what they have "handed" down for sanctions for much more egregious actions by other schools.

It is frustrating when they do almost nothing to JFF, yet punish a female golf student for using water on campus to wash her vehicle

i believe he is referencing a student that washed her car at the athletic department and because it wasnt generally available to all students they asked her not to in the future as it could be construed as an athletics perk.

if its the same story her punishment was "hey, dont wash your car here" and a few overdramatic headlines about it

I believe she had to pay $20

And it was a "secondary violation" or something like that

which may even be exaggerated. and it was the school not ncaa that dinged her if that did end up actually even being paid. but otherwise, totally apples to apples here.

quote:

NCAA spokeswoman Dana Thomas emailed Thursday that her organization did not participate in the decision and does not consider the car wash to have been an extra benefits violation. Asked why the golfer was penalized, Thomas said "it seems there was a miscommunication at some level" and the WCC is working with the school to clarify.

Elaborate. Is Alabama breaking NCAA rules with respect to recruiting in LA?

The NCAA is has gotten absolutely hammered in the media over the Summer and Fall, hopefully it leads to some big changes. Im not sure how much more hippocracy the big money teams and conferences are going to put up with.
