Arian Foster Health Concerns

Anyone out there concerned with Foster's health? He has been dropping in most leagues to the 6-10 spots. FFTB has his ADP at 6.9.
My question is if there are significant doubts to drop him from a solid #2 to a 6-10 pick should you even gamble on him in the first round?
Also, what if you have him in a keeper league? Do you toss him back and go supplemental? Obviously this would depend on how many team owners are going into the supp. and what the throw -back pool talent looks like. But, would you seriously consider it?

I got him at the 8th spot in a 10 team standard league. It was between him and Lynch for me. I decided to diversify my portfolio (I own Lynch in another league) and rolled with AF. Standard scoring.

2 questions you have to ask
1) is he worth the risk of losing to injury several weeks
2) can you handle the anxiety of (game time decision) every single week staring at your lineup and tv 15 min before game time waiting to hear if he is a go!
if both questions yes... by all means take him. I like using my first pick on consistancy

I wouldn't take him at #2 but I wouldn't hesitate taking him anywhere 6-10.

Lynch had similar back issues last year; Foster will play. I would not hesitate to reap the benefit of taking him 6-10.

Any ideas on that last slot for the CE league?

I am concerned with his health, but would draft him late 1st rd. Would def hand cuff him with Tate.

There's a couple of people I can think to ask.. Wasn't sure if we were still doing it. We putting up any $$?

This. I have the 4 pick and if the scuttlebutt around the league holds true I have a good shot at Charles. So as abnormal as it sounds I'm going to let Foster slide as well.
I was mock drafting in a keeper league with Lynch in the house and the 5 pick. I was trying to figure out the guy in the 4 hole. He has Foster so I don't know if he'll gamble or not. Should be interesting to say the least.

With or without Foster, move Ben Tate up your draft board. He could be the steal of the draft this year.

I wouldnt have a problem at all taking Foster if you know you can get Tate.

Lynch had back spasms. Foster reportedly has pain radiating down into his legs. Sounds like more than just soft tissue problems. That said, I agree with you on taking him 6-10.

Unfortunately, I am unable to produce a link, but in following Lynch very closely last year, radiating pain in legs was discussed.

I had this back in April from a disc issue. Still can't lift bro

Yeah, definitely sounds like a disc from that description, but I think I saw somewhere that Kubiak or someone said the leg pain was related to the shots he received. Not really sure, I'll look for the quote.

From an ESPN article on the 18th. LINK
ETA:
quote:
"He's had some injections to try to alleviate some of the soreness," Kubiak said Sunday. "The way I understand it we're trying to [work through] the injection process."
"Kubiak said Foster began getting injections the day before the Texans' first preseason game. As he understands it, those injections have caused some pain in Foster's legs. Asked if there was concern of nerve damage from a back injury, Kubiak said no."

Did not know that. I'd still take him late round 1. Why not? He's remarkably consistent, and always has some potential health issue. He's an NFL rb, it's expected really.

I agree. Foster seems like the type of player to play through this, even if it continues.
