I believe it's Gris Gris that will give you all the info you need.

They're really easy to make yourself. It's not a secret recipe. Google it.
Use ground pork and ground beef. The key thing, I think, is that you don't drain the grease, but add flour to thicken it. I don't like the puffy pie crust, so I just use a regular pie crust without baking powder.

Call Lasyone's. they used to ship. Then stopped. They posted not long ago on Facebook or somewhere that they would start shipping again. I didn't see it on the website though. It's expensive, but these are the only meat pies worth ordering.
The ones in the link above are sold in all the Louisiana grocery stores. They're edible but not even close.

Correct. But I remember being able to walk into his cafe and ordering an entire plate with sides for like $5 or so. Clearly, back in the day.
BTW, sorry the check is a little late.

They have these, but that kid weirds me out.
Plus we all know he wouldn't really be smiling after taking that huge bite. He'd be cussing after burning the crap out of his mouth. It's next to impossible not to burn your mouth on a meat pie. Worse than hot pizza.
