Told this guy we need to be driving the boat by 545 this morning. Its now 610 and he still isnt here. Some factors to consider, he is bringing his son and sons friend.

I'd wait a little longer, then give him shite about it.

When I was in high school a family friend used to take me fishing without expecting gas money or anything (I was a broke kid). When he told me to be there by 4:30, I was...if I hadn't been he would have certainly left my arse. I appreciated what he was doing for me and was never late. Thank Jim!

This is one of my pet peeves. Since kids are involved I will hold my comments back.

Even with kids it drives me fricking nuts. I woke up at 4 drove to the camp, loaded the boat. Iced everything down got completely ready to go by 520.

People never consider the time and effort it takes to make a trip go. My big thing is duck hunting. I want to be there settled in and relaxing waiting on legal shooting times. Never fails though, somebody is running behind and needs this or that. It can turn into a big deal for me but they lack the sense of urgency.

Just call him and make a comment. Don't let it ruin a good day though. Say your piece then go hammer some fish and have a good time. Most importantly show those kids a good time.

Did ya call him?

I mean if I am blindly waiting on someone, they better be fairly prompt but if I can communicate with them and know they are trying but having problems I will wait.

In your situation where the opportunity to get kids on the water is a factor...I'd wait as long as I possibly could. Especially if the kids don't get a chance to fish often.

I wait 15 minutes unless they call and say they're on their way.

If he doesn't have one then he shoulda found a way to call you to let you know that he was running behind.

How in the phuck does someone get by without a cell phone? If he can't afford a cheap arse prepaid phone tell him to go see Obama...I heard he has been giving them away.

That has to be someone who thinks its cool not to have one. I would be fricking penniless without mine. It is my life and money maker. I would give it until about 7 at latest and haul arse. As much as I think I would want to stay for the kids that's flat out disrespectful.

If he didn't have a phone and was 30 minutes late, he's left, IMO. This would be the perfect time this guy needs to discover the purpose for a cell phone in 2013. He sounds like a pure D dickhead. I feel sorry for this guy's son already. There's no telling how boring his life must be.

After saying that, I'd be even more compelled to wait and take the boy fishing, but tell the dad stuck in the 80's that he can wait at the launch for you all to return.

What time did he arrive?

I hate it when people do this stuff. I feel like they have no respect for my time. I started having people either meet me at my house or I would meet them at theirs, to go hunting or fishing. Really cuts down on the bullshite like your situation.

Yeah, if I hadn't heard anything by 6:45, I'd be gone. 5:45 is late to begin with this time of year.
