How thick should my concrete slab be for a shed?

I'm guessing 4 inches, but I figured maybe somebody on here could tell me if that is not correct. I'm not really a concrete guru and didn't feel like wading through all the shite answers on google. TIA.

The thicker the better to a certain point.

I would say 4-6 inches would be good.

Is it gonna have heavy things like a tractor on it?

For just a shed with nothing heavier than a riding lawnmower - 4 inches should be fine.

The slab can be 3.5 - 4" thick. What type of shed are you building? You may need footings under the exterior walls depending on the size of the shed and the materials used to build it.

No tractor or anything that heavy. The riding lawnmower would be the heaviest thing. Just making sure 4 would be enough. I'm sure the concrete company will tell me 6.

It's just a couple of the 10x14 sheds from Lowes we are throwing up in the back yard.

The Barber Shop scenes have to be the best scenes in any movie. Period. Good username.

Do yourself a favor: buy some wire mesh and put in it. 4" will be more than enough, and the mesh will keep it in mouch better shape for a little bit of money.
Lowes, they have other sizes.

Thanks man. I will do that. And thanks for all the help from the non-Eddie Murphys. I appreciate it.

If you are talking about the steel shed, then 4" should be fine. Make sure you remove any grass/vegetation where the slab will be poured. Also take the advice from elprez00 and use the wire mesh (6x6 w.w.f.).
