In terms of how confident are you this year, compared to other years, that LSU will get this done......

It's hard to go back, mentally, and remember how I felt in say, like 97 (the obvious choice for a super confident year imho). But that said, there's not been another year that I can remember where I believed more strongly that LSU had the best team in college baseball, and especially compared to the 8 teams competing.

I know it's baseball, and anything can happen, but DAMN this has been a great baseball team. I don't ever remember a team that had this much balance between pitching, hitting, and fielding.

This the year you've been most confident? For me, there's no doubt. This is the most confident I've ever been that the Tigers get it done.

1998, when they won the first two games in Omaha but didn't make the Championship game.

This may be the best tiger team ever. So yes, pretty confident.

But the best doesn't always win. See 98

Same. They are great at everything.

(No jinxies).

But it is the CWS and all the teams are great so anything can happen. I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

to young to remember how I felt in the 90s championships. I guess if I were to make a comparison 97 may be the best, we are the best here and I think we will make some very loud noise in omaha.

Lack of experience in Omaha is being grossly undervalued and will be a factor.

I'd feel a lot more confident if they'd gotten past Stoney Brook last year and even gone 0-2 in Omaha.

I give them a 50/50 shot. If Eades pitches like he capable of I'd move it up to 60/40.

97 Larson and Furniss. Never out of any game. Alabama was tough on us, but that was our best team in Omaha in my opinion.
09 A team with Mitchell and that staff was so dangerous. There were a ton of other hitters, but Mitchell was the standout because he was super fast, a threat to steal bases, and he stirred the drink. Schimpf, Dean, LeMahieu were huge. Neon's defense was amazing. Mahtook was the fifth best offensive option.
13 The new bats erode a lot of confidence. The team is loaded and has as good a shot as any.
00 Holy mercy was that team just stacked. While there was a ton of talent, they really limped along (comparatively) during the season. Great coaching job to get them motivated. LSU killcrushed in the SECT and the Regional that year. You could see the ability to win a title at that stage, but would the pitching hold up.
93 Some crazy pitching and Todd Walker made one pretty confident.
96 was supposed to be an in between year, that Miami team was stacked. Pat the Bat, who won MOP in a loss was quite a player. Those Bama and Florida teams were also stacked.
91 Previous failures, and the pedigree didn't exist yet

I do keep forgetting about this, and I think you're right. The Omaha experience factor is undervalued.

Man, in 09 I was positive LSU was gonna win. I made so many bets with my Longhorn buddies that I would've had to move had LSU lost Game three. But I was about 99.9% sure LSU was gonna win.

Right now, I'm confident, but not as confident in 2009. What's weird is I'm more worried about UCLA than anyone else in our bracket. The experience factor.

I was really confident in 2009. I just felt like that team had it all and no one could beat them. I'm almost as confident this year.

I think people are overestimating the "been there before" factor. This team has seniors with leadership and has played big games in front of huge crowds. Plus, they are great defensively and have a lot of speed for the big outfield.

I don't think there is a more balanced team in Omaha. Win the first one with Nola and then the team will be comfortable.

Best LSU team ever....!

I'm happy they made it to Omaha, but I expect nothing less than another year nailed up onto The Intimidator.

I said the same thing this morning. I'm expecting a championship. Not because I'm seeing purple and gold, but because of the talent we have on this team.

The major key to winning is Glen. If he pitches like he did before the time off, we staaaaaaaaaaaaacked, field fuuuuuuuuuuuu*&%^$%.

Slightly less than 09 but still very very confident. The only reason it's slightly less is because Eades compared to Coleman.
