Had to run home, so why not have a beer with lunch?

I've always wondered, what does FBD stand for?

Leaving for Chattanooga tomorrow morning. 3 day, 60 mile trail race on 3 different mountains starts Friday.

From the final race e-mail:

quote:

Don't forget, we're going to be hanging out at the Crash Pad / Flying Squirrel on Friday night and Saturday night. We'll show photos, hang out with the runners and, of course, there will be tasty beverages (beer) for you to re-hydrate (beer) after a long day in the woods. Part of what makes the stage race special is the camaraderie between runners; this is always fun, and there will be beer.

This is why I love trail running. We all speak the same language, and it revolves around beer.

I like that one. What did you think? We are supposed to start getting Odells in Texas soon.

I like it. Lots of tropical fruit aroma/flavor. Not piney or grassy. Don't think rutiger likes this one because of that. So it's all in what IPA profile you prefer.

I remember not liking it but don't remember why. further research is needed. sometimes I like tropical, but if its tropical I like a bitter back end.

Not bitter at all on the back.

I'm thinking I want to start doing these. I need something to make me not so damn competitive with my running. I get too discouraged that I'm no longer what I was 10 years ago, and end up injured trying to rush and push myself back into racing shape.

Trail running with others sure sounds like a nice change up in my now "retirement", and beer makes it sound even better.

It's a totally different mindset from road running. Way more laid back.

There's a big group in Lafayette that runs at Acadiana Park or Chicot just about every weekend. Lots of first timers as well.

We'll be putting on a race at Acadiana in August. Trail running, homebrew, good times. I think the Aug 17th is the date.

Happy running. My Dad has done quite a bit of trail runs around Chattanooga. He always comes back saying he won't ever do them again, yet he signs up for another one a few months later.

Awesome. Acadiana Park is my old high school & college training ground.

Time to rehab my calf strain/tear from 8 weeks ago even quicker so I can get out there and see what it's all about, especially the beer.
