Just picked up a wii today for and I'm curious as to how to do all this home brew stuff that allows games to be run off of an external hard drive or USB. I have the homebrew channel set up but that's it so far. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not saying this to be a dick man, but just google it or try wiiso.com. Read through the tutorials on that website and it should help you pretty good.

Didn't know about wiiso, just pointing me in that direction helped out. Googling when you have NO clue what you're doing leads to a lot of trial and error.

I have everything set up on the wii I'm just struggling with getting the ISO on to the hard drive/USB

I used to dabble in the homebrew arts but I've forgotten most of it now.

And the fact that I'm using a Mac doesn't make it any easier I can't seem to format my USB.

to format sd. go to applications then utilities. then disk utility. you will see card in there as mounted drive. highlight it and you should see erase/format. make sure fat is file system.

I have all that done, it's formatting the USB and getting the wii to see my backups.

I'm interested in this myself. I have homebrew channel but I've never done anything with it.
