I've bought cheap knives all my life that never seem to last for me. Finally want to buy something actually worth the money. I want one to do all the things I usually do with a knife and be a good solid self defense knife also

Blades hold up good? I'm horrible at sharpening a knife so I would like something that holds an edge pretty well

I have the Chef Magic sharpener. But thinking of getting that for keeping in the barn.

On thicker bladed skinning/hunting knives the Chef Magic is tough to use. It's made for thin kitchen knives.

That one looks like it could sharpen anything that has a blade no matter thickness.

My Mini Trident is in my pocket as well as a Buck 505u for some reason. I'm double timing it today

spyderco military

not terribly expensive, sharp as a razor, and holds an edge well.

It's a large knife, but tucks into a pocket really well. I carry one every day.

I have one that is that I need to send back to the company because it doesn't work very well any more.

Nodust - I've sharpened knives upwards of 1/4inch thick with it.
