When A&M beat LSU last year and then had their coming out party by beating Bama. You did know that A&M beat LSU last year, right? Beating the two big boys in the West and then getting a Heisman created a rivalry.

What??? No Alabama vs Tennessee or Auburn vs Georgia? I thought those rivalries were so important we HAD to have permanent opponents in the SEC.

I disagree. Those are the 5 biggest current rivalry games but are not the 5 biggest traditional rivalries.
LSU vs Ole Miss is a traditional rivalry as was LSU/Tulane but those games are meaningless now.
There is no current bigger rivalry in college football than Alabama vs LSU. It just doesn't get any more intense than when those two teams play each other and the fan bases for both schools know that.
