According to ESPN FC' twitter account, Fergy is gone at the end of the season. Well welcome to United Mourinho!

Eta: SAF will take on the role of "ambassador and director" for the club upon retirement

Eta 2: Sir Alex Ferguson to retire

Eta 3 (Way late but blame finals ): David Moyes current Everton coach to replace SAF after the season

I believe I've heard Mourinho say that he wanted to replace SAF when Fergy retired. I think I heard it around the tine Mo led Inter to the Champions League title. I could be wrong though.

Either way, I will continue to hate United.

I think it's going to be Moyes, and United fans will be pissed for a while. I don't really get why they want Mourinho. The guy has managed a dumpster fire this year.

Chelsea made his arse quit. For idiots that don't understand sarcasm, I realize that in no way did Chelsea do anything during his tenure that directly led to his retirement.

So his last ever loss came to Rafa?

Sad day for football. This is the biggest news we will hear in the next 5 years I feel like. The greatest ever.

I'm curious to see how this will affect Rooney. Moyes and Rooney have a long running feud which could lead to Rooney leaving for PSG or Bayern Munich.
