Healthy smoothie advice needed

What are some healthy recipes you can suggest?

Also need some advice in terms of what to add in addition to the fresh ingredients. Protein? Other supplements?

Goal is a healthy, low calorie breakfast/mid afternoon snack option.

- 4 frozen rasberries
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 scoop vanella protein powder

Nice

ETA:

Why do all these protein powders have heavy metals in them?

45y/o, not looking to bulk up, just stay fit and lean. Gettin back to 34's at 6'3" 195.

every morning:

coconut milk
ice
protein powder
blueberries
strawberries
banana
1 cup spinach/kale
honey.

Tastes like a fruit milkshake. I drink that a 6:30 and don't each lunch til after I work out, usually at 1:30. I don't get hungry like when I used to eat whole wheat bagels, oatmeal, or whole wheat toast. Gliadin. Google it.

Been drinking some variation of that for the last 18 months. Helped me lose 20 lbs (I couldn't shed despite working out) and 3 inches off my waist + belly fat.

YMMV

No clue. I just drink them because they taste good... My wife is the health nut and made me one a few months ago, I'm addicted to them now.

Me too. I've been drinking muscle milk, but want to try just a whey power in a smoothie.

Add FRESH spinach to your fruit smoothies. It turns the smoothie green and looks nasty but you can't taste the spinach.

When you say "carrot juice", does it actually have to be the "juice" or can I blend in whole carrots?

I buy the juice from publix for convenience sakes and consistency.... but i'm no smoothie expert.

One cup of kale contains 36 calories, 5 grams of fiber, and 15% of the daily requirement of calcium and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), 40% of magnesium, 180% of vitamin A, 200% of vitamin C, and 1,020% of vitamin K. It is also a good source of minerals copper, potassium, iron, manganese, and phosphorus.

Kale’s health benefits are primarily linked to the high concentration and excellent source of antioxidant vitamins A, C, and K -- and sulphur-containing phytonutrients.

Carotenoids and flavonoids are the specific types of antioxidants associated with many of the anti-cancer health benefits. Kale is also rich in the eye-health promoting lutein and zeaxanthin compounds.

If you want low calorie, stay away from fruits and particularly juices. Use almond milk. It's very low carb.
