Has anyone on the OB ever fish with this type of lure? I can't imagine casting these things!

Typical gumps.

Will claim its really 5 different lures but in reality only one of them is legit.

I have caught a couple singles on it (5 prong), more trouble than its worth IMO. Talk about wear your arse out, had to throw it on my flipping stick, every thing else felt like it was about to snap on the cast.
I will throw it again this summer when they're schooling and see if it works any better.

Holy Crap...

I wouldn't mind fishing that, but I'll be damned if I'm going to transport that in my truck or boat.

You'd spend half the morning just untangling it.

They work well out here in CA. But you can only have 3 with hooks (frick this state and its rules) so you've got a bunch of decoys that sometimes get hit. It will straight wear you out if you sling it all day too.

Bro in law caught 5 speckled trout at one time on one last year in Fourchon.

I wanted to cut his line.

We used to use them for striper here in Ark long before the ter Alabama rig came out. We called them a umbrella rig and still do. They can be deadly. I'll use them on points, schooling fish over the top of grass beds. Hard to cast accurately. Great for trolling for striper. Have used them in a smaller version for crappie.

That is an assault fishing lure and should be banned. Especially if it is black!

I think that first one is fake

You can only use 5 hooks at most in tournaments(I'm pretty sure anyway) but they can really be killer in the summer when the fish are schooling in open water and in the fall and prespawn.

Some companies call them "Umbrella Rigs". I've never used one because getting hung once would empty my tackle box.

Yeah, I didn't stutter. The fishing regs are a nightmare around here. I've said it a million times...CA is more interested in revenue generation than species preservation and it shows in their fishing regs.

And Doc... Assault Lures.

That's how these folks think.
