I'm halfway through arkham asylum but I really like it. Hopefully I will have beaten arkham city by the time this comes out.
AC certainly introduces a lot of improvements to several of the mechanics, but I liked AS more overall. I'm in the minority there, I think, but I actually enjoyed the tighter, more handcrafted environment of AS vs the sprawling city of AC.
Once you get over the "Hey! I'm Batman in a big city" buzz (and it is a good feeling) you begin to realize most of the truly interesting places in the city are inside of the buildings, not out in the open world.
They are both great games, though.

Not a whole lot of the original cast, but I hope it performs.

Troy Baker is legitimately the best voice actor in the biz right now

There's a new video on XBL home page that's pretty badass. Wasn't sure if it had been mentioned here or not. Looked on youtube but didn't see it.

Copperhead is originally a he dressed in a snake suit. Eventually something happened and he ended up with fangs. In the new DC 52 it's a female which is where this version is coming from.

Updated with a multiplayer trailer. Not sure how it works from just the video. Hopefully we get more concrete details soon.

I'm guessing you can play as enemies too

Looks like Joker and 2 thugs vs Bane and 2 thugs vs Batman and Robin. Should be sick. Will be interesting to see how they do this without certain characters being too over/underpowered.

Based on the trailer I'm guessing it will be an area control kind of game set across Gotham where players pick different villains and heroes with various powers.
My gut tells me it won't be anything more than a fun, little diversion but it has potential. If you are a villain it would be cool if you could set up the placement of your henchmen and various traps around your territory.
It could be sort of like a tower defense game where the incoming wave is actually Batman and Robin (controlled by other players).

Multiplayer details HERE.
ETA: Some quotes from the article.
quote:
The multiplayer mode, which will ship with the game on October 25, will allow players to be part of one of three factions: the heroes (Batman and Robin), Bane's elite thugs (three players) and the Joker's elite thugs (three players). The game will play differently depending on which faction players choose.
quote:
The goal of the heroes is to take down as many thugs as possible to fill up the intimidation meter. Once the meter reaches a certain point, both Bane's and the Joker's factions will retreat.
quote:
When we jumped into the role of the elite thugs, the multiplayer mode took the form of a third-person shooter where we had to wipe out the enemy thugs while also keeping an eye to the sky for the heroes. We were able to use an enhanced vision mode — similar to Batman's detective vision — for short bursts of time, allowing us to scan areas for both enemy thugs and heroes. Midway through the match, Bane and the Joker become playable, but only if certain conditions are met.

this could actually be really cool. I wish they would have also put in something like survival from COD MW
but this could be cool. Is this gaming gonna be on next gen systems or only 360 PS3?

I had $50 on Steam and couldn't think of what to do with it, so I pre-ordered this game. Guess I need to start looking at what I'm getting.

This mp mode seems forced and unnecessary like in AC. They just threw it in there because every game has to have mp now.

I figured you'd be all over it knowing how you like the Arkham games. Of all the fall games, this is the one must buy for me (over GTA, Watch Dogs, etc). I really hope it's the same as the other two in terms of how it plays. That was the major draw for me.
Love the Arkham games

Never played MP on any of them, never intend to.
