If you had to come up with a 5 year span in music that you remember being the most influential for you, or in your opinion "the best time music was being put out"..
I'd have to say 1992-1997
Vulgar Display of Power (1992)
Far Beyond Driven (1994)
The Great Southern Trendkill (1996)
Dirt (1992)
Superunknown (1994)
In utero (1993)
(Plus Unplugged with Nirvana and Alice in Chains)
The Downward Spiral (1994)
Broken (1992)
Antichrist Superstar (1996)
Portrait of an American Family (1994)
Countdown to Extinction (1992)
Undertow (1993)
Astro Creep 2000 (1995)
Ænima (1996)
are some of the more mainstream albums released in that time that people may remember.

1973-1978
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish you were Here
Animals
Houses of the Holy
Physical Graffiti
Presence
5 Aerosmith albums
5 Van Morrison albums
Van Halen
Blood on the tracks (and a few other Dylan albums)
2 Tom Petty albums
About 6 hank jr albums
etc. The only thing that sucks is that there arent any beatles on there. I could've shifted it back some to do 68-73 which would include 4 beatles albums, but either way '73 has to be in there somewhere.

ahh the early 80's..I wish i could have been a young teenager in the days when Metallica released their first 3.
I got into metal in the early 90's but love the metal of the early 80's too.

You guys are listing 6, but oh well. I'm going with '78-'82.
