They will shut down Maxwells and that nasty Albertsons. Probably be the end of Calandros also. The best AG store in Baton Rouge by a long shot. Can't wait

It'll suck to have the open spot where Albertsons is, but I won't shed many tears.

Calandros I would think will be alright. But shite, I don't know. If the beer selection at Alexander's is up to par then I don't see myself going back to Calandros again.

Maxwells I would think will be alright. Not exactly the same, but Maxwells across from Whole Foods seems to do well.

It won't be. At least not yet. Talked to the beer guy last week and he said right now it's not great. He's trying, but he's not really the final say.

Damn, that sucks. Thanks for the info though. I guess I should start sending "requests" in via their website.

Probably worth a concerted TDF&DB effort to send in requests for beer selection.

I doubt it shuts down anything.

The Rouses at the golf all on Airline will hurt Albertsons more than Alexander's. Calandros will be fine and as said Maxwells is a niche and does fine at Corporate with WF and Calvin's.

I'm interested to see when they start the outbuildings what will come into those. Hopefully more than a nail salon and mattress store.

Don't forget some house frow's hobby interior decorating boutique and a cell phone accessory store. I usually get excited to see a new shopping center go up, only to drive by when the signs go up and say "yeap, never stopping there for any reason."

My Pale ale just became ready. Still needs a week or 2 to smooth out a little.

It's more of an Extra Pale Ale. 52 IBU's, 6.3% abv.

Just got my ingredients for my blackberry wheat. Will brew that in a couple weeks.

Will close before any Calandro's.

Probably why they revamped the whole image.

St amant store isn't that different from calandro's on government.

Wish them luck, but what are they going to offer that Calandro's, Whole Foods, Rouse's, Leblanc's don't already?

Supposed to be a step between leblancs/calandros and whole foods. Think it was pitched as a local whole foods.

I am not one that thinks this will hurt calandros. I think the area can support the two without a problem.

Location, location, location. I live about 3 minutes from this store. Are you aware of how many people live in this area?

I am so happy to have this store so close to my house and will be happy to never have to step foot in Albertson's again.

Oh and why all the hate for St. Amant business owners?
