My daughter was born on Dec 8th, so as homage to me, you should make your wife have your daughter on Dec 8th.

Just discovered this board, got a question...
Currently running a 6870 HD 2GB card. Purchased for $200 in 2012.
Wanting to look into upgrades to 1440p, going to buy the card first and monitor second. I want something that will power the Oculus Rift for Star Citizen in a year or two when it comes out (and not look like potato).
Shopping for value, what are my realistic options for a card in the $150-250 range? Logical increments says GTX 660, R9 270/270X, or GTX 670... what say you?
CPU: i5 3.3
RAM: 8gb DDR3

Never visit that site again.
Also, $225-250 on ebay will get you a used R9-290 with a reference cooler if you're willing to tolerate the loudness of the fans. If you are truly interested in going 1440p, I'd recommend upping your budget to $300 for a used 290 with a non-reference cooler. The 280x/7970 are decent cards for that resolution, but the wider bus/higher bandwidth and extra vram of the 290 would be more of an investment. 280x and similar are getting closer to the realm of "entry-level" for 1440p gaming, at least in AAA releases. This is of course dependent on what sort of graphics settings you are hoping for. It may really just be a matter of High vs. Ultra textures (and a few other less significant details) in deciding between the two cards, so the $75-$100 difference may not be worth it.

It was only down for like 10 minutes, but was weird. Completely out of nowhere.

See that piece of shite by the dresser? That was what i had before. It didn't even have enough room under it for my chair to fit.

My desk broke in the move and I am using one my sister wanted to get rid of while I search for a good desk that I like.

hola PC Master Race,
Another weekly/monthly question from your neighborhood consoler, Klark Kent.
So, I'm picking up 2 3TB drives for my PC/Media Server at home. 2 because I'm quickly filling up my 1TB drive and I want to do this thing right this time, RAID.
So what's the TD PC Master Race's preferred method of raiding? RAID 1.

Alright, i'm having audio issues and I don't know what the cause of it is so I am looking for help from you guys. Remember back in the day when you would have cassette tapes and the audio would like almost slow down and/or cut out and then go back to normal. Well my computer is doing that with me now. Youtube, Pandora, Spotify, Twitch streams... any audio source it's doing that and it's annoying as hell. Any ideas? I've made sure all my audio drivers are up to date.
