So what's the TD PC Master Race's preferred method of raiding? RAID 1.

For a two-disk RAID, it's a simple decision -- Redundancy or performance? I'd choose redundancy (RAID 1).

But if you buy two more of them, RAID 10.

I don't know how/why you keep doing it on the tech board.

I'll still get the tablet. Two 7950s for $160 can't be passed up. I may try and swap them for a 780 or something like that

I really wish I would have went with 2 r9 290 x cards vs adding a second 7950, but i need to upgrade mobo and cpu and monitor when I get there, as well as looking at water cooling. I will do a complete build before W3 comes out this winter.

What are the pros and cons of having a motherboard with two video cards?

So you're saying I'd go from 2.5 to 4? Sweet!

That's a vague question. Depends on which two and why. If you're gaming at 1080p, there is absolutely no reason to buy two cards. That would be for a cost-effective upgrade -- i.e., you were gaming with a mid-range card for a couple of years and decide to pick up a second one on ebay to get some longevity out of your GPU setup.

Otherwise, you really should only crossfire/SLI high-end cards if you're doing it right off the bat, and only if you're playing at resolutions beyond 1080p.

I have a barely used 270x for sale. $100 plus shipping.

EDIT: although, I don't have 2 free games to offer with it.

Hmmm... tempting offer. What about a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745?

Also think I'm going to go with the Intel i5 processor right now and upgrade to an i7 later.

What about a potato?

Just go for an i5 and don't upgrade for a long time. By the time the CPU is worth upgrading, you'll need a new motherboard too.

What's your whole build look like? If you're even considering Intel, you might be underspending on a GPU in proportion to the rest of the build.

re: PC Discussion - Gaming, Performance and Enthusiasts
My buddy gave me his NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 because he was building a new PC. He said it would run everything i want to play at max settings. My main games are going to be The Sims and steam games. I'm trying to go cheap.
