They depend on Chris Paul too much, and that's never gotten anyone anywhere.

Teams with Paul on them haven't gotten anywhere because they depended on Paul or is it because he's never had talent around him to make a deep run?
I mean, the Hornets overachieved when he was there, especially the year they were the 2 seed.

Reason #1: Their coach sucks.

Paul's had talent around him but questionable coaching and Vinny Del Negro is a crap coach.
They aren't going past the second round until he's replaced with a better coach.

You boiled my argument down pretty well.

I suppose you can argue it both ways. When they got off to that great start earlier everyone was talking about all the talent on the roster (while also praising CP). Now that they've fallen a good bit, people are saying the roster wasn't very good to begin with.
I'm of the opinion that they were never that talented, and that they depend on CP too much.
They definitely overachieved when CP should've won the MVP, but that roster was definitely solid. A healthy Tyson Chandler playing as well as he ever had, DWest in his prime, CP back when he was athletically superior to most. They got 77 games out of Peja.

I agree with this. Del negro coaches them to be soft and they try to rely on drawing fouls too much rather than focusing on just grabbing boards and playing legit D. Btw; I didn't watch the video, so my post might be redundant.

They have one of the worst coaches in the NBA thats why they aren't built for the playoffs not because of paul, blake or anything else

youve got CP3, widely regarded as a top 2 PG in the league. an athletic 4 whos a franchise cornerstone. an athletic big man in jordan. savvy vet caron butler. past his prime but still effective chancey billups and his leadership and a very good bench. not many teams boast these types of assets. and blaming the coach is fricking weak.

That's the exact reason to blame the coach. They have all this talent and still can't win anything.

its clearly the coach

What talent, exactly?
Outside of Paul/Griffin, the are lacking.
Their 3rd best player is Eric Bledsoe.
Their perceived talent level is overstated, IMO.

Uhhhhh, Jordan
And 8/7 guy with shot blocking ability isn't exactly out of this world.
He's a good player, but he's not a championship cornerstone.

Thank you. They just aren't as good as the Spurs, Thunder, and possibly Nuggets. That's why they won't win in the playoffs.

So an average center who is a good athlete is a championship piece?
Posted on 3/27/13 at 1:20 pm to St Augustine
People love Jordan because of the alley oops. There are at least 12 centers clearly better than Jordan and most don't have to sit on the bench at the end of games.

quote:IMO, it has much less to do with the coach than it does the simple fact that OKC and SA are flat out better teams.
