Jindal cancels Medicaid contract

LINK

I don't think this has been posted yet? Right?

The largest state contract in LA history was found to be poorly managed and corrupt, allegedly. Apparently DHH director (and Jindals buddy) Bruce Greenstein helped his former company, CNSI, get the contract. How long until Jindal throws Greenstein under the bus to cover his ass?

If Grenstein were in the least bit guiltily of any wrong doing he would have been forced to resign before this became public.
This whole thing looks like political/corporate infighting.

I had to do a double take when I saw this. Does this rationale/blind trust apply to D's, as well?

It's not confidence in anyone. If you watch the press coverage you've noticed, Jindal is not about to let anyone in his administration tarnish his administration. If Jindal doesn't totally approve what his dept heads are doing they quickly and quietly leave.

There is no away a dept head is going to illegally let out one of the biggest contracts in LA Hx and be allowed to stick around.

They were first served with the paperwork that an investigation was ongoing just after New Year's. Contract cancelled just now?

They underbid the next closest bidder by over $40 million, then submitted a $40 million supplement/change order?

Yeah, nothing to see there...

Greenstein's performance during his Confirmation Hearing w/House Ways & Means was shiteously shameful.

Jindal does find a way to remove those who have a different opinion than that of his. BESE board is a prime example. Did he not remove those who were against his unconstitutional "educational overhaul"?

The logic that Jindal's department head would not have an illegal contract on the biggest contract in state history is akin to saying Jindal would not try to push his ideas in an illegal manner. I.e the vote for changing state retirement, taking money from the MFP to go to PRIVATE entities. I believe both of those bills would be considered "big." The problem is that Jindal thinks he is above the law. This is just the beginning...

I'm in no way saying that St Dept heads would not do anything underhanded. I'm just saying if they did and were getting ready to get indicted they would be disposed of quite quickly. I doubt they would be left on the job during a legal battle.

Unfortunately Jindal remains on the job even after passing several bills in an unconstitutional manner. Hopefully many issues which have been kept quiet about him and his administration are about to be brought to the surface.

I bet you give Obama the benefit of the doubt though.

I touched on this the other day but it certainly deserves its own thread.

The contract was not canceled bc of Grenstein per se.

I know why it was canceled but won't state anything here because of pending litigation.

Nope. I said PER SE meaning "in itself".

It had alot to do with DDI costs being inflated beyond what was anticipated due to the FI having difficultly managing scope for various reasons.

Not true. It was REVOKED because of amendments made by Jindal's department head that allowed them to place a bid when said department head stated he had NO dealings with the bidding procedure that involved his former employer.

Essentially an ethics violation in its simplest term.

Would seem strange to allow a K to stand until investigated by a grand jury and then revoke said K on day of disclosure of investigation. The state was made aware of the proposed "amendment" prior to the cancellation on Thursday, Correct? Wouldn't it be reasonable to infer if revocation was based on the amendment, the K would have been revoked earlier? I guess it is all coincidental. The truth will come out soon. Just as it has about all of Jindal's top "accomplishments" from the last session which have been deemed unconstitutional by the courts.

Also, we can agree to disagree until the investigation is finalized.

However, I believe we can both agree that Jindal has been getting his --- handed to him by the courts as of lately. In my opinion, this will not be an anomaly and Jindal will feel the ill effects of this too.
