Its different for every person.. For me it was a couple months, but I have friends who quit 10 years ago that still crave them. They love the smell of cigarette smoke while I can't stand it.

Yeah, she purposely had to stay away from places like that for the first 3 or 4 months because the temptation or rather pressure was too great. She really liked smoking. She had been doing it for 30+ years when she quit. The first 3 weeks were miserable for all involved. She had to figure out what to do with her time that before she would fill with having a cigarette or two. Like on the verge of crying upset about it.

I 've never really been involved with drug addicts trying to quit, but if cigarettes were any indication, it's a mother fukker.

I'd be willing to bet over 50% of us smoked in HS, or maybe I'm just trashy

I don't know if it was 50%, but it was a lot. They got rid of the student designated smoking areas before I got to high school, but it was still well used.

I quit March 18th....smoked one last wednesday. It's tough especially in social situations.

Years. Probably 5 years. Drinking heavy with buddies it still pokes its head out, but that’s it.

Now they gross me out when sober.

I used to smoke at least a pack a day and quit while using chantex. It made it easy to quit although I had fricked up dreams while on it. Been six years now and of course the cravings are gone. Glad that monkey is off my back.

Depends on who you run with. I’ve notice that for people under 45, smokers tend to hang with smokers.

There are no smokers in any of my friend groups.

Was a dumb arse. Smoked 2 packs a day for 58 years. 5 years ago lung cancer lung cancer made me quit. Now cancer free. No cravings.

You must have a very strong constitution. Proof of how rugged the human body really is.

I’m just over 2.5 weeks into quitting (last cigarette was 17 Apr), and still can’t quit craving a smoke about 50 times a day. Of course some times are worse than others, and it’s now pretty easy ignore, but do the cravings ever fully go away?

I could have brought you to my BIL's ICU bed last week when we pulled the plug on him. Died from heart and lung failures from heavy smoking for 45 yrs. That might have driven those cravings away...
