Yep, nothing lined up and no two week notice. Best professional decision I ever made and kickstarted a career change I very much needed.

Been there. Ego driven. Bad move.

Yes. But the economy wasn't fixing to take a shite, so, tread carefully.

No. The one time I knew I was getting fired, I made a phone call, resigned, and was back working for another company the next day. It’s always good to have friends that know you have good work ethics and not a POS. I eventually ended back at that same company years later after they fired the guy that had it out for me. No one misses him…
I will add to this. When I resigned, I went back to my old life as a millwright, working the plants. After 3 years, I had enough. I came home and worked 3 jobs. Part time at Autozone, part time for an oil change place, and part time for a medical equipment company. It was lots of hours, but I made it. Then the company I went back too called and was throwing money at me. 7 years I’d been gone and went back to double what I left at. And it’s 1000% better than when I left. A blessing honestly.

Yes, was miserable at my last job and put in my 2 weeks on a whim during a morning meeting with my boss. Best decision I've made. Few weeks to relax, starting working part time for my Dad until I found my current job. 5 years later I haven't looked back.
Granted, I was living rent free at the time and was paid out on 150 hours of accrued PTO.

No but I did have two jobs at the same time once.

Yep, quit, they didn't want me to leave, so I stayed on another year, then quit again. Best move I ever made.

If its just a "job" and you won't end up homeless go for it, if it's a career and you just want a different opportunity.....its a whole lot easier to find a job when ya got a job. Bet.

Nope, never been fired, a few times the company was sold out from underneath me, but got something before they shut it down.
