Depends. You need music for cardio or just weight training. For weights, I use a mix of everything, but I make sure it's songs that I know and like. I have rap (slow and fast paced), rock, blues, and like club rap. I find anything that's a good song to you, helps.
Now for cardio, i put on songs that I know the majority of the words to, or at least know the melody perfectly. Really helps pass the time.

I listen to metalcore and post-hardcore mainly for weights. Just downloaded some August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, and Adept.
