Even if this is true, which I'm not sure it is, Anderson is not a SF. If you want Noel you either need to move Anderson or you'll be using a pick on a big that will get 25 minutes a game when you could have used on a wing that would get 35 minutes a game. I'm all for BPA, so I can see scenarios in which we pick Noel and figure out to do with him later, I just hope we don't have to make that choice.

So do you want the future plan for Davis to be a C? I was thinking if we drafted Noel, he'd play C and Davis and Ryno would stay at PF and share minutes like this year

But Porter and Oladipo's recent emergence has me liking them more and more.

thats my point im not saying I dont want Porter or Oladipo but Porters a sophmores and Oladipo is a junior...Porter did pretty good as a freshman and Oladipo was average to above average his first two years

they are both better now but I believe looking into the future trying to predict and develop talent I want a younger guy with more promise at this junction

you cant get caught up in the "sexy picks" a lot of times it causes you to reach/overdraft

I'm probably starting to sound redundant at this point, but I'm absolutely baffled at the lack of respect Trey Burke gets as an elite player. These mocks drooling over Smart, but barely sneaking Burke into the lottery has me confused.

I've been doing the same over on HR. I just don't freaking get it. The kid is in the running for player of the YEAR. PLAYER of the year... and he's not on this list, nor do most think he will go in the lotto? Baffling.

I would trade SO much to get back into the first round to snag Burke. Even if it meant trading Vasquez for it.

Can you imagine coming out of this draft with Bazz/Burke or Porter/Burke?

why is everyone down on Anthony Bennett? Hes a big guy but Carmelo was 240 coming out of college too and he plays SF

he's obviously not Carmelo but he has similar build and height I think he can play SF I'd love to have him

Carmelo is an elite scorer and bad defender. Bennett is not an elite scorer. Any comparison to Caramelo is not going to work out in Bennett's favor.

Honestly, I think Bennett is closer to Brandon Bass than Carmelo Anthony. That said, Bass has become a solid player in the league.

the comparison was about size because my observations are that hornets fans dont want him because they all think he is a PF

just making a comparison about size not skills i think thats obviously

i do like the strength Bennett has...I think Bass is a good comparison based on skills plus Bass is a bruiser and I think thats what Bennett would bring to the Hornets

we have no one that is just nasty

Here is tape on Rudy Gobert, 7'1" guy out of France. Many say he is the best foreigner this year.

Another interesting euro prospect is 6'9 SF Giannis Adetokunbo out of Greece. Crazy potential:

I like Trey Burke a lot. For some reason, I just see him as having a Mike Conley type career.
I think he could be better than that. He is averaging 19 and 7 on one of the top teams in the best conference in America, those are awesome numbers he's putting up. I think he's going to move up a lot come tournament time

I know its not a revelation to anybody, but Draftexpress is the best nba draft site out there.

I found nbadraftinsider.com a few days ago and it looks pretty legit.

NBA Draft Blog is another good one.

He doesn't have a mock yet, but I have enjoyed his work. Already has scouting reports on about a dozen lesser players right now.

Ibaka's fricking chiseled.

he is chiseled, but he's lean as frick. He may have 10lbs on Noel, who is just a FR.

Chicken or egg? His lack of strength wears him down and limits his minutes.

lol, it doesnt wear him down.

I think his limited minutes have more do to with late tournament run with kentucky, team USA practice and travelling, then start of his rookie season.

Their easing him in, and it has nothing to do with getting worn out from more physical opponents

Back to the original point...spending the first overall pick on a guy months removed from ACL surgery is risky as shite.

So from all these threads, it seems the general consensus is that we should be between Porter and Shabazz? Unless we pick up a SF in the offseason, it seems to me that's what we need to draft.

And yes I'm intentionally bumping this thread. And RAing for a sticky. I think it'd go well with the lottery thread up top

McLemore seems really unlikely unless we land the top pick and trade Gordon

kinda crazy but believe it or not Shabazz is rising to the top of my want list

I kinda want him over Porter to be honest which is crazy considering I had a man crush on Porter after watching that 33 point performance at Cuse

Im not sure if I want McLemore even if he's on the board when we draft...if we trade Gordon Ill consider it but I'm kinda against it

Its really hard to predict what the direction the team is going to go, without knowing how they are going to resolve the Davis/Anderson rotation and if Gordon gets moved. Personally, I'd love for Davis to get moved to Center (after gaining 30lbs of rip this summer), Anderson at PF and then taking Bennett to play SF. I just love players like Bennett and when you have soft players like Anderson and Davis, you need a bull on the wing.
