I had it for the AFC championship. Not a sole was in the place. Pizza was way too greasy and the sausage was terrible. Reminded me of a poor man's schlitz & giggles. Won't be going back.

It's always empty. Their sausage is one of the selling points for me and pizza is generally greasy. To each their own.

I think that mama Della's, Roma in prairieville, and pizza delicious are all on the same level. Ancora and domenica are just slightly better IMO. I also love west main but it is outrageously expensive. When in Baton Rouge I'd pick mama Della's or fleur de lis if I had to choose. Bad thing about fleur de lis is that it takes 2 larges to fill me up. Domenica has the best happy hour pizza special. West main would prob be my favorite in the state if they cut their prices in half. That being said, Venezia probably makes my favorite in the state and ancora is a very close second. If ancora would sweeten their sauce just a bit it would blow every other place mentioned off the map. Their crust is pizza perfection. I've also noticed that most people who don't care for fleur de lis are ones who don't like many toppings. Their round the world, with or without anchovy, is very good. I also get a shrimp-onion-bacon-pineapple-banana pepper combination that is killer.

Damn son.

I love a RTW with. It's just a completely different product than a New York style pizza.

Neil speaks the truth. Thank you for saving this crappy thread. I have not been to Della's or Roma but will look for them soon.

I personally don't care for the thick Sicilian crust at mama Della's but his ny style, margherita or grandma pie are good. Thanks for the props

It took me a while to get it, too. It's definitely not the best, but I like the old-school style of the place. It's just as much about the atmosphere as it is about the pizza. Old faded photos of days past, old pinball machine and jukebox, old beer signs with 40-year old inch thick accumulations of dust. I also only like their large pizzas; the small is entirely different and does nothinf for me. My advice is to dine-in and order a Round the World; get an extra side of Romano if you wish, and a cold beer in one of those little cups, or a Coke in one of those tiny bottles. Only thing is that you have to deal with that smell being stuck on you until you take a shower.

Johnny's has become an over marketed trap for shitty ingredients and rednecks.

BJs Pizza's Full House takes this one. They didn't sell out like that old fart, Johnny

katie's is good, but way too much flour on the pizza, he needs to use semolina for better texture.

Wouldn't doubt it, but his description was spot on for Pizza Village not Deano's. The two are nothing alike.

Ive never had pizza village. regardless, the pizza I have had at deano's is all meat and dough.

you don't know what an analogy is? S&G pizza is greasy and sold by the slice. very similar to PIzzicare except it doesn't taste as good, therefore a poor man's version
