I don't remember ever seeing an intentional safety in the NFL.

yeah exactly. like i knew it was likely they could do it and wasnt surprised at all when they did, but i couldnt name a single time

Pats have done it recently. Saints did it in 08 against the Chargers.

Bilichek definitely has done this. Snapped it over the head of the punter intentionally and it hit the uprights, IIRC

Among others, New England did it against Denver in the 2003 regular season (I think it was 03). It was a MNF game

I don't ever remember seeing so much non-called holding in the endzone on safety to let the clock run out.
