Geauxt, spend a few more dollars and buy a holster and a Glock won't go off in your britches.

Just say NO to Mexican Carry.

Well, there could be other reasons, such as shooting true big bore rounds like the .500 S&W, .454, and others. They offer a very good platform for hurling large pieces of metal downrange at high rates of speed.

THIS!

Why is no one else mentioning the fact that handgun hunters use revolvers?

For rounds with insane pressures, lightning-fast muzzle velocity, and bone-crushing muzzle energy, you CANNOT beat a revolver. PERIOD.

I am more of a semi auto guy too but you can't discredit how amazing some revolver rounds are.

Buffalo Bore makes a 357 125gr Gold Dot load that does 1700+fps out of a 4" barrel. Find me a semi auto pistol round with that much muzzle energy and we'll talk.

EDIT: Forgot to mention... if I'm going into bear country, I'm taking a revolver.

I'll let this Colt Anaconda illustrate my point:

And I will add one point regarding the Single Action Army I posted above.

Every one of the action parts can be broken and that gun can be made to fire. It is literally possible to hold the cylinder in place and hit the back of the hammer to make it go bang. Practical? Hell no. But it could be done if there was no other choice.

You can load a revolver, stick it in a drawer for 50 years, pull the trigger and it will fire every round.

If someone is stupid enough to play Russian Roulette with any firearm they deserve whatever they get.

Not to be a heckler, but there are some rounds that shoot 1600ft/s out of my G20 10mm. I get 15+1 of that too.

I a still waiting to kill something with it. If I had a shot inside of 25yds, it would be hard for me not to take it even if I had a rifle with me. Supposedly the 10mm is good for 150+yds

Do you know how many times you can repeatedly shoot these hot rounds out of it before it starts to take a beating?

This is my point. Revolvers are very robust, especially some of the Ruger ones that Downshift talked about yesterday.

Semi autos are difficult for some ladies to rack the slide, revolver can be shot multiple times from inside a purse or under clothing, much easier to learn how to shoot safely
