So is it going to be like Texas with the SPC where the private schools are just split into divisions separate from public?
If there aren't playoffs anymore and state champs this is a fricking travesty.

What we had in Tennessee. It sucks
Public and Private got to play each other during regular season but come playoff time, it was split. Makes state playoffs kinda boring

When you say private schools do you really mean John Curits, Evangel, Calvary?
Or are you including like Newman, Episcopal etc.

It's a complete split in Mississippi. I don't think public and private are allowed to so much as scrimmage one another. No one would ever beat south Panola anyway

Texas has the UIL with the public schools (plus the Jesuits), and then TAPPS, and SPC and maybe 1 other private school league.
Unlike in LA, the private schools can't stay on the same field with the publics in anything but basketball where some of those sketchy arse fly by night operations exist, and country club sports.
From what was being reported earlier the "split" would send charter, and magnet schools along with the public schools right? This is probably slightly better, as tons of the LA HS are "select" in some way right?

Yea this is not going to be good. I hear Episcopal is going to be moving up in a few years. Are they supposed to be able compete with Catholic and Parkview and Karr since i think they will be considered Select? The public schools bitched and complained enough and finally got their way. They get the districts the same and still get to play the private schools and get the gate money, but don't have to compete with them in the playoffs. This is the beginning of the end for the LHSAA. Good job Kenny

Yeah it's that way in MS. Jackson Prep a private school beat a public school in Pearl. They can play each other in the regular season but not in playoff time. Kind of sucks

They will not break away. Also, they can stop using the excuse about gates at contest. Unless they are a Curtis or someone like that, they can't say it.
