I don't have a dog in this fight but I LOL when people post things like "I wish I could justify my pay with mediocre results".

right there is where you are wrong. The last 6 seasons have been disappointing. I'll give a pass for 2008, but after that, no way.

this is what's wrong with lsu fans. lsu has gone 43-10 from 2009-2012 with an SEC title and a BCS title game appearance. people really need to get off their high horses. if alabama wasn't in the sec and saban wasn't the coach, people would be completely fine with the record but because lsu has lost to bama 2 straight games the world is fricking over. oregon has won exactly dick and their coach just became one of the highest paid coaches in sports. i doubt many of them are bitching about him underachieving

It's just idiots who think they could win 10 games as the coach because "I'd call a bunch of screens, they'd never expect it".

Idiots gonna idiot.

And that is where you are wrong! The days of just being satisfied with SEC titles at this program have passed. If you think that then that is what you "falsely" believe and I don't know what to tell you. LSU is a powerhouse program now and has been for awhile. They are expeceted to do a lot more than win conference title's now!

Make this easy.

Win west.... Raise
Win seccg ..... Another raise
Win NC..... Another raise

This 10 win shite is for losers and people who don't mind playing second fiddle to Alabama.

tell me this, outside alabama, what program in the sec, or country for that matter, has out performed lsu since they became a powerhouse program? i'll say lsu stepped into that category in 2001. and no, the days of being satisfied with conference titles is not over. an sec championship season is always a great season.

Did this in 2011. So by your standards he should have gotten a raise and then another raise for winning the SEC.

500,000 per win...sounds reasonable.

So what you're saying is, compared to Auburn and USC, LSU is getting a deal.

Kiffin made $571K+ per win
Chizik made $1.19Mil per win

Miles won a NC, retard.

Every BCS winning coach since 2005 is being paid more than Miles, with the exception of Chizik. So tell me again, how is his contract not justified?

this raise has been in the works all season, you know right after he achieved 2 of those checkpoints on your list. you don't adjust salaries every year based on how many losses you have.

Ticket sales at minimum from the year are 60.5 million atleast. That being said as a game manager I would say Les isn't worth his 4.3 million but as a recruiter, maybe.

but that didn't happen. what if alabama doesn't luck into the title game last year and les won. what would would YOU say then? see, the thing is, neither of those two things happened. lsu won in 2007 with the help of others. alabama won last year with the help of others

I like how stupid assholes such as yourself say this. Are you even an LSU fan? So you like to bash LSU's championship but praise Bama?

What would have happened if Okie State would not have shite the bed against Iowa fricking state.

Or if just one of either Kansas State or Oregon would have not shite the bed in a game this year.

What would you be saying then, dick?

I am not saying I'm opposed or against the raise, but you can't compare him to Mack Brown. Texas has money plain and simple. If they want to pay that much for a mediocre coach, have at it. It would be different if all this money was coming from one boss (like the NCAA)to pay all these coaches... then yea, you can compare salaries. However each school is responsible to pay their own coach what they think he deserves, based on their cashflow, instead of comparing to other coaches. Those other schools may actually have more money to do so. My question would be, is it in the programs best interest to pay him this much?..esp with a huge buyout. He's not going to make Mack Brown money unless he is coaching Texas.
