Not based solely on this season
1. Chip Kelly - three straight 12 win seasons
2. Bill Snyder - maximizes talent
3. Corch Irvin Meyers - 12-0 season with incomplete roster and program distractions
4. Chris Peterson - wins 10+ every year
5. Les Miles - fielded one of the best *regular season* teams in CFB history last year
6. Brian Kelly - 12-0 this year with above-average talent
7. David Shaw - Class act/great recruiter, has proven to be worthy of being Harbaugh's replacement
8. James Franklin - Vandy won 9 games, nuff said
9. Kevin Sumlin - almost ran the table @ Houston in 2011, TAMU was arguably the best team in CFB at the end of this season
10. Pat Fitzgerald - Purple Vandy won 10 games this year
Honorable mention: Art Briles, Bill O'Brien, Steve Spurrier, Mark Richt, Charlie Strong, Mike Riley

I have a feeling you'll see this guy move up lists like these as time passes.

I would have Gary Patterson somewhere on that list as well.

one of the best teams in CFB history should be able to get past the 50 yd line at least once in a half

They went to a bowl last year, too ya know. Not bad considering the upward trend of the SEC in the last 7 years.
You clearly aren't aware of the history of Vanderbilt football, it's atrocious

I was expecting only 3 or 4 posts until this showed up

I think we laid an egg. I also think we beat that team earlier in the year at their place and both teams were far and away the best 2 last year. I also think LSU wins it all any other with that squad.

Shaw
Sumlin
Kelly
Those would be three choices for LSU, which in a way answers the question.

So if you had the choice between franklin, Patterson and strong you'd take Franklin?

Miles is number 2. He's the only one to really have Saban's number a couple of times.

Kansas State hasn't won a bowl game in over a decade.

I really like Stanfords coach. I wish he would be able to put a full season together and make it to the BCS title game. I think I'd rather that happen then ND winning it. I also like Sumlin, I just don't think he's like CUM, if he doesn't have the right QB for his system, he'll have a good D with a below average offense.

Gary Patterson was mediocre this season in the Big 12 (albeit they lost their QB)
Strong won the terrible Big East and beat a Florida team who's coach didn't have them ready to play.
People don't understand how much the odds are stacked against Vandy. Academics, shite facilities, crappy fan support, zero recent tradition, SEC schedule.
So yeah, maybe I would take Franklin.
