This is why gun registration and gun permitting are so dangerous.

At least here in FL, they changed the law a few years ago so if you are a CCW holder, you can easily opt out of having that information publicly available.

Not sure if that'll give burglars targets to hit or if it'll tell them who not to frick with. Either way I hope somebody sues the piss out of that paper. If there's any grounds to do so. Not sure what law may have been broken there

It appears to be gun permits.

Let's play pretend...you gonna rob a home you know is armed over one that may not be...really?...really? I wish the NewsStar would run free ad space announcing that my address was armed to the teeth. I'll have to depend on the fact that 4 out of 5 vehicles in the driveway are 4 wheel drive and 250 arts of ice chests with them are dripping blood( processor gets some business Wednesday).

Obviously a gun seeking criminal might skip your house however if they notice granny next door has a gun or the Clarks down the street who are not home during the day, those are easier targets of opportunity.

Not sure what that means but there are real reasons the state of FL stopped allowing CCW holders information to be public.

Every gun in New York has to be registered or just gun owners

In NY, you have to have a license to own a handgun. The license does not necessarily mean there is a handgun in the home, but that that person can own one. The license is public information and the paper is allowed to publish this. Someone got the editors home address and phone number and has published that for everyone to see too. There are times when that Freedom of the Press is a pain in the arse.

I agree. I don't like that the paper did it but if we agree on the rules of CCW, it is currently public domain information. Freedom of press can be a bitch sometimes

Go back and advocate for your state to allow for privacy options
