Mine was at 8 years old with a bolt action 3 shot 410. First buck was the next year with the same gun on a drive. I remember I was sharpening a new knife when a cowhorn come running by about 40 yards. One pellet hit the deer in the neck and dropped it. Not sure how far I slung that knife we never found it.

Stand was Dozer Road 1 at Mount Vernon Camp in St Francisville (not sure if it's still there).

10 or 11 years old with a .22 Hornet.

I know, I know...not too legal. Just me and a buddy out popping coyotes for bounty after school when a deer came along....we didn't know about hunting licenses, seriously.

My buddy's dad didn't raise any issues when we dragged that thing home. Made great sausage.

15 and second hunt for deer. Took a 5 pointer at 15' with my 870. Still have that gun, rack and 00 buckshots from the deer along with the tag. And yes, that was 40 years ago.
