I was 14 with my .270 Rem 7400. Sitting in my boxstand in this oak flat getting rained on like God turned a fire hose on me. The rain let up just before dusk and out walks this doe 25yds away.

fricked up when I was 7: had a spike in the iron sights of a 30-30 and pulled the trigger with the safety on, twice.

marlin 30-30 lever action

24 years ago. I was 15, went by myself and laid in a dirt pile surrounded by rye grass. No hunting clothes on just a orange hat. About 12 does come out. And I picked the one that came the closest but not the biggest. 40 yards and dropped her. I was a dumbass back then.

I was 10.
Marlin .357, lever action.

Button buck. Killing Bambi warped me. Haven't hunted deer since then (25 years).
