shite I should have checked to see if it burned the motor. I think it died from not being able to get out and not the motor but who knows. I've seen bigger squirrels perch up on it while I hunt sometimes but this guy got greedy

Haha I didn't do anything the little bastard was a glutton. I still don't get how he got stuck in there. There was at least a quarter of corn still in the barrel if not more

I was at the site watchthedeer.com and i saw a feeder kill a squirrel in real time. At first I didn't believe what i saw, it was pretty sweet though. I'll try to post a picture i took when i get home tomorrow.

I've had a squirrel die in a feeder, but from a different reason. Squirrels had chewed a hole through the top of the plastic barrel, right below the top. They then were climbing in and eating the corn inside. We kept putting duct tape over the hole and they kept chewing through that too.

However, they got a little too greedy, as they ate more corn and as the feeder spun corn every day, the corn pile got lower and lower. Until one day, the hole was too high for one of them to jump back out (I would have though they could have jumped that high, but evidently this one couldn't). We didn't notice until the feeder started stinking of death. Dumped the feeder over and "hey, rotting squirrel". Plus, the corn was ruined.

They used to chew holes in mine too. Used fiberglass to fill it in
