On the Lakeside side, on the opposite side from Mr. Roos in that strip mall next to Kosher Cajun.

Can't wait!

First falafel is on me.

One of two BR restaurants that are better than any of the same genre (Greek/Lebanese, in this case) in New Orleans.

The other is Bay Leaf (Indian).

Everything else is better in NOLA.

No tan rápido allí, muchacho.

Lebanon compares favorably. And Byblos is damned good, too, although perhaps somewhat less of a straight-ahead Lebanese restaurant.

I like Byblos, but like Albasha more.

I have not been to Lebanon, so can't comment. I'll just say aficionados of the genre that I know tend to tell me Albasha is better than anything in New Orleans, for what it's worth. Particularly the Sherwood location.

Haven't been to Albasha in BR in a long while, but I recall it being damn good and relatively inexpensive for the quality. Nice to know its now within 10 miles of where I live.

Yes, I also like the gyro or gyro salad at Mr Gyro's.

Phoenicias on Vets by behind the chilis is really good.

However, i think Albashas fills a hole in the New Orleans market. IT is a decently priced good Lebanese place. Byblos and Phoenicias are too expensive to eat regularly.

First I llove bay leaf...saffron nola blows it out of the water....not even close. It is more comparable with indika in Houston and rasika in dc....you should try it.

Second I have yet to have a good meal. I have been with people who said the same. Lebanon's is much better and cheaper.

I'm sure I will try it if I'm out that way but this is not exciting news....we have a plethora of good middle eastern spots.

I'm crossing my fingers for Burmese, Afghani, or Malay....might be a pipe dream but we now have two Ethiopian restaurants out of the blue.

Bump for the opening. I went last night and the place was empty. Granted it was a Sunday, and I'm not sure word is out yet. Just wanted to update for Albasha fans.
