I would think they would plug him into Obi Mikel's position... Up until this year wasn't he mainly a DM?

Yea but he wasn't nearly the player he's been this season in that second striker role.

Honestly if they're going to replace Mikel (which they don't necessarily NEED to do), a pure holding mid would be much more effective.

Funny how AC Milan can keep 40 year olds in playing condition but not 20 year olds.

They have a great medical lab in Milan and are quite revolutionary. The Milan Lab is brought up in Soccernomics.

I think this article is a little old and very general, but you get the idea. LINK

I think Pato is more of a freak case of always being injured. Milan is the place to go for a guy like him.

Just read there has been an "anonymous" bid for Pato.

Fellaini to Chelsea

Why?

quote:

instead of mentally inserting a player like Fellaini into the defensive midfield role he used to play with Everton or the second-striker position in which he’s now employed, consider him for what he actually is: The world’s best (and perhaps only) defensive number ten.Acknowledge that, and suddenly the ghost of a system that actually maximizes Chelsea’s assets starts to fall into place. A midfield three reinforced by Fellaini dropping deep can suddenly accommodate Oscar and Ramires as shuttling players while Mikel stays deeper, giving the Blues a passer-runner-destroyer trio in the centre of the pitch.

What I’m describing here would probably be called a 4-3-3, but it bears a closer resemblance to the strikerless 4-6-0 employed by Roma in 2007,

Not a Chelsea fan at all.

Defensive 10 talk is a bit silly but the rest of the article makes some sense, especially if you have no faith in Torres. With another goal already, that crowd is growing smaller.

Rumors flying that Spurs and Inter are in heavy talks about a Wesley Sneijder transfer. As a Spurs supporter, if this does happen hopefully it would force AVB to only play one striker at a time with the abundance of capable midfielders.

Not sure how'd this move would work with us having so much attacking mids as it is and Sneijder's high wages.

Pato was screwing the ac Milan owner, I'm guessing that is finally off and now they are dumping him.

Great p,Ayer but he's barely played in the last 2 seasons.
