The poor labor force that works there.
You've gotta look up the under cover boss episode on pop eyes. The VP is undercover at the one in kenner on Williams and w esplanade, the cook in the back started yelling at a customer thru the food chute. Priceless

It's hit and miss. In this case the crew makes the restaurant and if you find a location with a good one you need to frequent it and avoid the others. The crew on Airline in Prairieville is top notch.

Smallest pieces of chicken of any fried chicken shack.

The biscuit has ONCE AGAIN shrunk. It is now almost bite sized.

The tiny side containers are now purposely filled halfway. Not to mention how watery the red beans are. Even watered down, they still don't fill the container.

I went yesterday and I am officially done. I really have zero interest in going back. Popeyes used to be my favorite.

I remember being able to actually watch the employees batter the chicken and make the biscuits from scratch. It was a viewing window. The food was one of the best fast food chicken I've ever eaten back then. I have no idea when they got rid of that.

Arby's did the same thing. Back in the late 60s, they actually used sliced roast beast, and it was really good. I remember the beef hanging from hooks and chains as they shaved it. God only knows what they do now.

As others have said it's the labor force that they use. When the Drive thru worker comes to the window and wearing a shirt with stains and is full of flour doesn't tell you thank you or greet you, makes you pull up to the side and then gives you the wrong order you know that you are at Popeyes. It's also the reason I won't go anymore. Won't eat their food either because if their workers are dirty then their food is dirty.

True, and it's rare to find one with a decent staff

Left the one on Highland a couple of years ago because the person taking orders was making out across the counter with a customer/SO, while it sounded like a party was going down in the kitchen. Went to the one on Airline-they were way understaffed, but the manager was working his arse off to make food happen. One of the best examples of making something with nothing I've ever seen. I called their 800 number and gave an ah snap to Highland and told them the dude on Airline needed a raise.

I have dreams one day of owning my own restaurant, but a thought came to me that if you were to purchase a Popeye's franchise, and just make sure it was managed and run well, you would make a killing, because almost all of the Popeye's are run like shite, but people continue to come for the product.
