Went there once and they were out of chicken and the drive thru attendant was smoking. How does a fried chicken restaurant run out of chicken? Strangely, I got excellent service at the Government Street location on a Saturday. It was so good that I filled out an online survey.

This thread is making me want some Popeye's fried chicken.

Maybe tomorrow for lunch.

Ate Popeye's from Jones Creek location today and it was surprisingly good.

I think there was a bounce show going on in the kitchen though. Seriously. They were hopping to loud music. I was conflicted bectween "WTF" and "Well, the dudes are enjoying themselves."

Product turned out pretty good and if I don't shite liquid in the morning, I'm going to call it a win.

I haven't been in a Popeye's in LA in years but the ones we have on post here in Germany say Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, do they say that back home? If so is that new? I don't remember Popeye's having that modifier back in the day.

True fact: We have 2 Popeyes in the area, one on the Air Force Base and the 2nd in FWB. The one on base will give up about 30 shrimp on the platter and the FWB is like 20. Seems kinda petty but not to me. I stay away from FWB for at least that reason.

could not agree more. I would drive to that one in a second before going to the the one on 73 in Dutchtown. I guess there is a reason the one in Dutchtown closed.

The worst by far has to be the one just south of HWY 90 at Raceland on HWY 1.

I stopped once and the only thing worse than the food was the service. Thought maybe it was an isolated incident, so I gave them another try a few months later. Same results.

The place was dirty and the black folk working behind the counter were kind and courteous to the black patrons but treated us like we didn't exist.

It's gotten to the point that whenever I go to a Popeye's that has good service, I want to hug all the employees and tip them $50 each just for doing their job reasonably well. The best Popeye's I've ever visited is the Williams Blvd location in Kenner. Friendly employees, two TV's - one on ESPN, the other on HLN, and a clean dining room. How hard is that?? By contrast, EVERY Cane's is just as clean and sells the same product for just about the same price.

I can't even go to any of the Popeye's in Shreveport, lest my blood pressure spike from having to repeat my order 20 times, and still receive the wrong things.

Popeyes in Baton Rouge

never ever use the drive-thru. that's just too brutal.
to-go orders will always be wrong. you just have to accept that.
when ordering, you must repeat over & over that you're wanting spicy.
tipping the person behind the counter helps, but your order will still be wrong.
floors are slippery from chicken grease. be careful.
a new employee at the register can really be devastating.
"Abandon all hope ye who enter here" aka Popeyes bathrooms.

Must be bad when they are closing the Mall/Ambassador Caffrey location. The only competition there is a taco bell, and we all know about taco bell.
