Who has the cheapest rates in Baton Rouge? Who is your house through? I hear quite a few are good. Neighbors, Assurance Financial and Whitney. What says the OT? Interest rates are at an all time low. Trying to lock in a house before this election in November.

I recently refinanced with Quicken at 3.5%.

Was with Bank Of America prior to that and was absolutely disgusted with their service for about 5 years.

Would suggest avoiding them at all cost.

What would be considered a great rate today?

I went through Assurance last year and they turned around and punted me off to Bank of America. Bank of America sucks a big one like that other guy said.

Used Essential Mortgage. Of course they are small and sold the loan to bank of America, but i think right now they are offering 5K towards the closing of a new home. Call and talk to Mike, dude is cool as shite

Regions Bank is working pretty good for me. No hassle. The process was easy. I bought my house 3 1/2 yrs ago at 4.15% on a 30 yr fixed. I'm paying on it as if it was a 15.

Assurance Financial was really helpful, but I ended up going through E-Fed. Credit Union. cause they financed my lot and construction loan. Figured I'd just stay with them. We closed on our permanent financing yesterday and ended up at 3.375, 30 yr fixed. They will probably sell it off to someone else, but I could care less.

find a loan officer you like and get to it. everyone is going to sell the loan even the company i work for and we are the biggest lender in the state. we move 95% of our loans to a company in North Carolina. the 30yr rate with credit above 740 should be 3.5% or less

Not trying to derail, but I think the odds are better that rates continue to slip regardless of what happens in November.

Is it BB&T? My loan just got sold to them. I got 2.875 for a 7-1 ARM. Our 5 year plan is to be out of this house, so I took advantage of the low rate.

ETA: We used NOLA Lending.

why go thru a bank,
going rate with no origination/points,
30 yr term as low as 3.25% to 3.375%
15 yr term as low as 2.875%
call me, i'm a broker here in baton rouge.
plus depending what loan program you need, the lender can help pay for your closing cost.
