No. Their customer base is dieing off and no one from my generation eats there. We used ot eat there all the time in the early 80's but the last time I went there was 95 and my wife (girlfriend at the tiem) were the only ones there under 70.

All those cafeteria style places are gone. It's either buffet or sit down.

IMO they will have to move to a more upscale buffet to attract more customers.

They could sell their crawfish etouffee recipe and make a ton! ONLY the Government Street and only the recipe from the late 70's.

I used to know the president of the company years ago - even he could not get the recipe. They had one person make it every day - and the recipe was in her head!

If they ultimately close, where will all the 70 year olds go to eat supper at 4:00 in the afternoon?

No. Their clientele has finally aged out. Of living.

Even I am a young'un compared to their usual customer!

One thing I never understood was what they called gumbo which was at the beginning of the line. It was a soup (no roux) with big hunks of fish, carrots and other crap. How this becomes a gumbo was always a mystery to me?

I never noticed they even had something they called gumbo. I won't lie, I enjoyed some of their stuff back in the day.

It really is a decent value. Had it a couple times last year.

Had their breakfast buffet a few weeks ago. Not bad.

One of my fraternity brothers is married to the Picadilly heiress. I guess their net worth just took a big hit

I've been, Institution to me growing up in the 70's in BR

the Bon Marche Location at one time rocked day and night 365 a year

but the quality went down after they purchased Ralph & Kacoo's years ago and they never seem to get back on track

and young people won't go there unless it's with Granny and Gramps

The location on Essen is depressing. I was shocked the last time I was there which was about a year ago.

Its pretty good for what it is. Fried chicken and catfish isn't bad. I don't do lunch out anymore since I've been eating healthier
