I listen to a few different sports radio shows here in upstate SC and I generally listen to the Yahoo sports station out of Houston on my way home frow work at night. Point is, EVERY single media and radio personality you hear, scrutinize and act as if Zach cannot recover from game 1, that he is just going to be mediocre. I feel like he has all the tools and the intangibles to be one of the finest QB's in the nation. I hope all of this negative crticism will fuel the fire and push him to lead us to an undefeated season and the crystal ball.

He won't need to "go off". A 200-250 yard game would be perfect IMO

They are referring to the game where he threw for just under 200 yards and had a 70% completion percent AND his team won by 27? I hope he never recovers from that...

Whoever thinks this is a fricking idiot...what is it that he needs to "recover" from? Given that it was his first D1 start, he did a good job.

I understand you are not saying that you think this, but that media is the one who is saying it.

All the haters (media) don't seem to understand Mett. He's good QB and definitely good enough for us to win the BCSNCG. But he will throw picks.

He reminds me a little of Favre (No, I'm not comparing him to a Super Bowl champion after 1 start). I'm saying he's going to make some awesome throws then some wtf was that throws.

They talk shite about EVERYONE but Clemson and USCe up here! There are actually quite a few LSU fans around here as well though, and everyone who I am friends with here are slowly becoming Tiger fans too! I liked what I saw from Mett last weekend, sure it wasn't a great game for him but after watching JJ and Lee for 4 years I think I'd have been happy to see Quincy Carter under center

I do not understand where all the criticism is coming from. From what I saw Mett looked great for being his first start. It was obvious that after he got slammed Miles pulled the reigns back and worked on quick passes as to not get him killed in the first game. That was all we needed and it was working. Sure he's not polished yet, but he was worlds better than we have had the last few years.

Sure they aren't talking about SC's QB who hurt his arm? Don't see why they would be talking about Mett up there.

I agree that he looked great for his first game. Our offense looked like Fla. against us in 09. We ran a handful of plays over and over trying to pefect them and it worked. I have no doubt that the entire team, not just Mett, will come out hungry and more focused Saturday night.

Hell be fine. I'll even be willing to bet he will have to step up and does when we need him to come through

20 completions on around 30 attempts, 200yds and 1 or 2 TDs with no turnovers and I'll do back flips down the stairs of Tiger Stadium.

This happens then we win by 4 touchdowns.

We should do this anyway. UW is terrible up front on defense. We should be able to name our yards running the ball. It's a perfect game to let Mett take some chances.

A. He's making his SECOND D-1 start ever on Saturday. Part of the reason for the "criticism" is that LSU fans and apparently some of the media thought this guy was going to come in and be the second coming of Andrew Luck. How about before annointing the guy as a saint, or throwing him in the heap of worst QB's ever, fans/media actually let him play a few games before casting judgment.

B. LSU has an outstanding running game. Why do they need thier QB to "go off" to have success? Run the f'n football and mix in some passes when necessary. If I told you that "team A" had a great running game with a yet unproven QB who seemed to have a lot of potential, and then asked you what they should do on offense, the overwhelming majority would say "run the ball." Why should that change just because you know who "team A" is?

LSU and Akabama are a run first team. We are also the best two programs in cfb.

No one said Mett needed to go off for us to be successful. He was saying that he hopes Mett goes off this weekend. Personally I want everyone on the offense to go off and for LSU to score 50+ points.
