Fried Catfish Recipe

Does anyone on here have a go to never fail fried catfish recipe? Thanks

Yellow cornmeal, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Fry whole catfish at 350 until crisp.

Whole or Filet?

Nothing wrong with hitting them with Crystal or Louisiana Hot Sauce before u corn meal them.

Yes. As 'Tini said..... Cornmeal is the only wy to fry fish.

What they said...but I add a quick soak in buttermilk, first.

Soak in a mixture of yellow mustard (German if you are feeling crazy)La hot sauce, and buttermilk.

I use yellow cornmeal, lemon pepper and a little salt for the batter.

The recipe is not always what causes failure in frying fish. Use a thermometer in your oil. Maintain your temperature by frying in small batches. Drain on a wire rack.
