Anyone ever caught one?

Caught one with sardine on the bottom at around 65' at a rig fishing for snapper. Never thought I'd catch a silver king, albeit a small one.

Caught several on a charter trip out of Boca Grande pass about 7 years ago. Stronger bite than a redfish and absolutely brutal on the end of a line.

I really want to head to Gasparilla Island in yak during the tarpon run in Boca Grande. I've seen some crazy videos of kayak fisherman on tarpon.

I've always wanted to catch one for the fight, but have a problem getting past targeting a species that will never see a skillet.

He said "told you so"

Saw a school of Tarpon feeding in the keys and threw a top water plug in the middle. Set the hook on the first one and he threw it about 20 ft in the air. Second cast I counted 5 after the bite before setting the hook and landed that dude.
I'd rater catch a snook and eat it.

Fishing out of Boca Grand when the bite is on is crazy with huge hooked Tarpon from other boats jumping around all the other boats. I was praying one wouldn't land in our boat.

Jumped 5 and landed one about 10 years ago in Mexico. I was using an 8wt fly rod.

It is still the best fishing trip of my life.
It was more hunting than fishing. The guide would put the front of the boat in a small open ending/pond and I would look around for the fish and cast. Caught a couple of snook on that fishing trip as well.

I've never seen that before but I have been to that marina. It's in Islamorada. I laid down on the dock and had one grab me about 6 inches above my wrist just like that. I wasn't stupid enough to try and grab it though.

When I lived in the Virgin Islands, a bunch of them would hang out by the boardwalk. You could see them swimming right under you. We'd eat chicken wings and toss them the bones. They would bust on some chicken bones.
