Looking for a new grill, have had a little $50 Charcoal grill for about 4 years, Looking to maybe go with Gas this time, Whats the biggest difference in the two? Don't want to lose the taste too much, just looking for opinions?

I have a Weber, and I love it.

You will. I had a weber for 10-15 years. Switched to gas so the wife would use it. Threw the damn thing away because there was no smoke flavor. I will never own a gas grill again. Its just like cooking on a stove top.

This is my biggest fear, Guess I could always upgrade the charcoal grill. Any recommendations?

you lose the charcoal flavor, but it takes FAR less time to cook. when i started grilling, charcoal was all i used, but once i saw how quick/easy a gas grill is, i went with it. i still have several charcoal grills, but they don't get much use

Charcoal all the time for me. Taste better and back when I had a gas grill it seemed to flare up all the time. Anytime you put something like a burger on it, you had to keep the water close by. Will only use charcoal from now on.

I like the less cooking time, but hate the flavor loss, maybe I'll just have both.

Big Green Egg or Primo gill. If you have the money, spend it and the grill will outlast you. And, yes they do cook better...

that is one of my biggest pet peeves. i ruined about 6 pork chops about two months ago (didn't help that my dad had them marinating beforehand (i'm a dry rub kind of guy)), but the dogs ate good.

I have had both, and never will have another gas grill. No where near the same experience.
