Sorry for the vague post, but I was with some Co-workers. We went to the Darrells in LC. I highly recommend it. I live in Lafayette so if we get one that would be great.

A Darrell's Special is one of the 2 signature LA culinary dishes. The other being a Johnny's Pizza, of course.

There is a huge area of the state of LA that is actually outside the NOLA metro area.

True and a submarine sandwich and pizza is not 2 signature dishes of this great state. Especially in Cajun country.

There is actually a third place now. They serve Darrel's at the Oberlin golf course just north of Oberlin.

It was closed last time I passed through LC, so I grabbed Mexican in Westlake... what a mistake.

The place just reopened a few days ago after the fire.

Glad you liked it. I'm not crazy about their food but a lot of people really like it.
